You may be unintentionally introducing bias into your search.

• Did you include outcomes? If so, you're telling the database what you expect to see, and you might not get results that will counter your expectations
• What databases did you use? If you're only using PubMed, you might be missing important research. Depending on your topic, consider additional databases including:

  • SciELO (Note you can also search SciELO using the Web of Science interface)

  • Hispanic American Periodicals Index
  • Bioline International
  • Native Health Database
