Clinical Trials

The final rule for Clinical Trials Registration and Results Information Submission (42 CFR Part 11) clarifies and expands requirements for submitting clinical trial registration and results information to ClinicalTrials.gov.

Effective date for the final rule is January 18, 2017 and the compliance date is April 18, 2017.

Legislation & National Policy

Fair Access to Science and Technology Research Act (FASTR)
FASTR covers federal agencies spending at least $100 million/year to fund extramural research. "Notes on the Fair Access to Science and Technology Research Act" from the Harvard Open Access Project at the Berkman Center at Harvard University includes analysis and links to the text of the legislation. (NOTE: The Legislative branch has not yet taken action on this Act.)

Publisher & Journal Data Sharing Policies

Check Instructions to Authors for details on how to handle associated data files before submitting a manuscript to any journal. Examples of publishers that require data submission are Nature, Science, and PLoS.
