Create an Account
- Direct your browser to UpToDate.
- Click on the Register button in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Complete the registration form and follow instructions to send a verification code to your email.
- Enter the verification code in the registration form and click on Submit Verification Code.
- On your mobile device, download the UpToDate App and log in with your username and password.
Updates & Expiration
In order to maintain uninterrupted access, you must verify your Pitt or UPMC affiliation every 90 days. Five days before the expiration date, UpToDate will send you an e-mail reminder to reverify your account with brief instructions:
- Use a computer from an in-network Pitt or UPMC computer or a mobile device connected to the Pitt or UPMC Wi-Fi.
- Direct your browser to UpToDate.
- Click on the Sign In button in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Enter your UpToDate user name and password.
Additionally, content in the app must be updated when prompted.
App Description
- Contains the same continuously updated content as the UpToDate database.
- “What’s New” provides a summary of essential new information added in recent weeks.
- "Practice Changing Updates" highlights selected specific new recommendations and/or updates that UpToDate anticipates may change usual clinical practice.
- Patient information materials.
- Medical Calculators include interactive topics that allow you to enter values in commonly used formulas to obtain numerical data.
- Lexicomp's Drug Interactions provides analyses of drug-drug, herb-drug, and herb-herb interactions.
